SAWYER Agency partnered on the design of MOTOWN: The Sound of Young America, an immersive exhibition celebrating the music, cultural impact, and political influence of Motown during the transformative 1960s era.

Curated by the GRAMMY Museum®, the exhibit honored Motown’s role not only as a musical powerhouse, but as a force that shaped American culture, identity, and social change.

Project Scope

SAWYER Agency led the experiential and environmental design of the exhibition, including:

  • Exhibition spatial design

  • Environmental graphics and interpretive storytelling

  • Artifact display integration

  • Multimedia and interview installations

  • Interactive performance-based experiences

  • Visitor engagement flow strategy

The goal was to create a dynamic environment that captured the energy, sophistication, and cultural momentum of the Motown movement.
